I just got my Centrino wireless card to quasi-work using the Intel ipw2100 drivers for Linux. Now I just need a wireless network to test against. It seems I have to take my Notebook with me to FBI tomorrow.

Sunday, November 20th, 2005Adapting to the changing web?
Friday, November 11th, 2005Yesterday evening, a customer showed me an article about Firefox from the Hamburger Abendblatt, that was published online and in print that morning. The title was (rough translation) Firefox celebrates its birthday – and changes the web. It was about the 100 million downloads mark reached recently. The customer had marked the second part of the headline with a pen. Don’t we have Firfox installed?, he asked. Yes, indeed., I said. So do we need to adapt, when Firefox changes the web? I told him that the change of the web was something more subtle – although important. You don’t need to change your surfing-style in the near furure, I said.
It is fair to say, that this customer is around 70 years old already and a novice computer user. However, I was so surprised of his question, that I thought it was worth posting it here. It seems that we have a whole new bunch of usability issues coming up due to Firefoxes success.
By the way: Get Firefox now!
