Walle, walle, manche Strecke…

Saturday, December 11th, 2004

Off they run, till wet and wetter
Hall and steps immersed are Iying.
What a flood that naught can fetter!
Lord and master, hear me crying! -
Ah, he comes excited.
Sir, my need is sore.
Spirits that I’ve cited
My commands ignore.

Und sie laufen! Naß und nässer
Wirds im Saal und auf den Stufen:
Welch entsetzliches Gewässer!
Herr und Meister, hör mich rufen! -
Ach, da kommt der Meister!
Herr, die Not ist groß!
Die ich rief, die Geister,
Werd ich nun nicht los.

The Non-Newsletter

Thursday, December 9th, 2004

Below you see a screenshot of a newsletter of a German retailer. At the bottom of the mail they say This is a customer information of www.e-bug.de and not a newsletter. However, they send their customer information, which does indeed have the look and feel of a newsletter by the way, from the email address newsletter@example.com (I altered the domain name for spam protection reasons). Now would someone please tell me why the heck a company that is expected to work in a professional way does such nonsense?

Let’s face it!

They’re not gonna get us*.

But take your time, think a lot,
Why, think of everything you’ve got.
For you will still be here tomorrow, but your dreams may not.

*) I wont dwell on who us is in this context. You know who you are.

The price of being finally free?

Wednesday, December 1st, 2004

I’ll quit something I’ve been doing for a very long time. In about a week. But instead of feeling happy, which I definetly should, I’m instead feeling not so good right now. That might be due to some interpersonal subtleties going on, but I’m not all that sure really. Let’s see if such a happy moment can get even sadder.
